OUR COMMITTEES

The Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) works to address a range of social issues related to fundamental human rights and social issues discussed globally.

 

Established after the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1945, the committee deals with diverse matters, from the right to life and freedom of expression to political participation, protecting the rights of children, social development, and cultural diversity; SOCHUM works to ensure humanitarian concerns are addressed and international human rights standards are enforced.

Through negotiation and new policies, delegates are going to shape strategies to safeguard the rights and dignity of those forced to flee.
